A couple weeks ago, I remote started my 2018 JLU Sport S. As I was driving off, I went to clear my windshield. The spray worked, but no wipers. I tried the switch, too, but that did not work either. I stopped, turned off the vehicle, and restarted. Presto! The wipers now worked.

This morning, same thing. I remote started the vehicle, went to clear the windshield of some moisture, and the switch did not activate the front wipers. I tried restarting twice, to no avail. I have not had a chance to check later today. No other problems have been noted, and the rear wiper works fine. I already set up an appointment with the dealer, for tomorrow.

Anyone else having issues with the front wipers intermittently not functioning?

Thanks for the response.
The dealer ordered a new wiper motor. They said there was a code, though I felt they were just appeasing me because I had asked if they were guessing whether or not the motor was the cause of the problem. They did say they recently replaced a wiper motor in another JL.

How did this turn out for you? I just had a similar issue today & came to the forum to see if anyone else experienced it. Remote started the JLU, wipers weren’t working because I did not ‘fully ‘start’ it after getting in. Depressed brake, & hit the start button & the wipers kind of worked but seemed weak. Cleaned off the heavy snow & they seemed fine after that. Started driving & some snow moved from the roof to the windshield when I came to a stop. Wipers didn’t do a damn thing when I turned them on. I cleaned the snow off again by hand & they finally started moving after a delay. Came to another stop & repeat the previous experience...

Does this seem like a motor issue? I can’t imagine the wipers on the JLU are weaker than the ones on our sedan (no issues & didn’t need to clear snow for them to work).

So far, the wiper motor replacement has resolved the issue. It's been a couple weeks since it was replaced, and the issue has not returned.

Sounds like what’s happening with mine. Wipers totally crapped out today & there is no snow or weight on them. Looks like a trip to the dealer is in my immediate future...
