My front locker harness plug broke and will not stay firmly plugged in to the connector. How can I fix it?

from there I unpinned the connector and repinned with the jeep wires.

Cool. Thank you. Did you have to drain the diff, and pull the wire out to unpin it or were you able to do that in place?

Yes, I wish I did it right the first time but I’m learning so I had to do it more than 1x. It is easier on the bench but you have to keep track of wires in 2 directions inside the diff when you unpin. To be honest plan on draining the diff and possibly un bolting the bearing strap to get to the sensor, I had to unplug that and unplug the locker power connector to get it on the bench.

trying to unpin in place was a challenge but doable.

I appreciate you answering my questions.

I’m seeing that the harness is actually a Y cable connected to both the locker position sensor and power connector.

it looks like once I unbolt the driver side bearing strap, I have better access to disconnect the cable from the sensor and power.

How did you unplug the power connector? Were you able to just pull to unplug it from where I circled in the picture?

What you have circled in red is the sensor. If your wrench is skinny enough you can get it in to the torx bolt on the top of your picture without removing the strap.
if what you have is a socket torx plan on removing the strap.
Once you unbolt the sensor and you’re holding it you’ll be able to undo it by hand.
I am using a set of connector pliers these days as I have found them to be much easier to grab on to oily connectors.

I’ve actually pulled the sensor before to pot it and managed to get the Torx screw out without touching the bearing strap.

But to get the whole harness out on the bench, it looks like I need to disconnect both #1 and #2 (see picture below). #1 is easy since it just unplugs from the sensor, but #2 looks hard-wired. You mentioned earlier that you unplugged the sensor (#1) and the locker power (#2)—did your #2 actually unplug somehow?

I really don't want to try unpinning the connector inside the housing, but if #2 doesn't unplug, it feels like my only other choice is pulling the whole carrier, which I’d rather avoid. How did you end up getting yours out on the bench?

Sorry for throwing so many questions at you! I’ve got the replacement connector on the way and just want to have a solid game plan before I tear into it. Thank you!

Broke my front locker plug a while back. Figured out you can just zip tie it connected. It's survived a week out in moab and some other wheeling trips, not a bad hackjob of a solution, lol

Looking close yours looks a little different than mine. I’m driving a 21. I was able to unplug the power connection reaching into the diff.

Ah, sorry, lost track of time. I just went around the backside of that breather just above it, and around the plug. This assumes your issues are the same as what I had (the plug is fine, just broke the clip part that holds it in). This is the best shot I could get with a 1-month-old strapped to my chest, lol. If you need better shots, I can try again tomorrow.
