Hey all

I have the 2.5” skyjacker lift on my JLU sport and it has been great and sat almost level - I added a full width LOD bumper, skid plate and winch (about 165lbs) and I am about 1.5” lower in the front than the rear and would like to get back level. Would it make sense to add a spacer or go with taller coils? Thinking about maybe upgrading shocks as well with the extra weight.

What would you do to get back to level....

A spacer is the easiest and cheapest way to level it out. Skyjacker also has a 3.5/4 inch kit. You could add their taller front springs.

I have the Skyjacker 3.5/4 inch Rubicon Kit. It added 5 inches in front and 4.5 inches in the rear. This is with steal front/rear bumpers with tire carrier, side armor, and 40 inch spare.

Are you sure it sagged? Mine hasn't sagged at all. Is it the Rubicon kit? How much lift did you initially gain front and rear?

I have the sport kit - I can’t remember my exact measurements but I think I was about 3/8”-1/2” lower in the front before bumper and winch - sag may not be the right term but I would like to get it back as level as possible. I want to add adjustable track bar as well so I may try taller coils while I am at the track bar

Hi,

I'm planning on installing a winch setup on my JLU SPORT, which will include the Mopar Steel Bumper, the Mopar Winch Mounting Hardware, the Mopar Steel Skid Plate, and of course, the Winch.

Anyone have any idea how much I can expect the front end to Sag or Drop due to the added weight, from their experience doing likewise on their JLU Sport or Sport S?

The Rubicon model will of course be different than the Sport(S) due to it's heavier duty front end.

I have no plans for adding a lift kit, but if there is a Sag, is there a spacer which could be added to compensate, and if so, how hard is it to install?

Also, I have a complete set of shocks from a Rubicon JLU. Can they be installed on the stock JLU SPORT Suspension or will they bottom out?
Being more heavy duty, I figured they could help w/the added weight of the wench.

Thanks!

I had approximately 1/2 inch or a little more drop in my front after installing a Warn Xeon 10 S platinum winch on my Rubicon. My jeep came from the factory with the steel bumper group. I had the dealer put the Mopar 2 inch lift on and it pretty much leveled it out. The dealer was prepared to put a spacer on top of the front springs if needed but they did not think the spacer was needed and neither did I!

Not sure what the mopar steel bumper weighs but if you have it already installed adding a winch won’t put much if any sag, if you have the plastic bumper adding the steel bumper, winch plate and winch will cause some sag I added about 165lbs with bumper/winch plate/winch/skid plate and i am sitting just over an inch lower in the front (2.5” skyjacker lift). You can add spacers or taller coils, shocks won’t fix any sag.

I have a standard Sport JLU w/the plastic front bumper.

So adding the winch setup, I can expect at least an inch then, maybe more.

As for the shocks, I realize that they won't help in regards to any lift but rather being able to handle the heavier load of the winch setup, especially offroad.

Your coils handle the weight....

Leveled up, went with the next length coils up front, upgraded to M95 shocks and added front adjustable track bar while I was at it.

Looks good. How is it riding?
Rides great, sounds funny but it doesn’t feel as “heavy” in the front. The M95 shocks are a nice upgrade and their adjustable track bar is pretty solid.
