I am having the exact same issue, were you able to find a solution?Definitely not going to torque em any harder. It needs to go to the dealer for a malfunction heated steering wheel anyways so will have them address both issues at the same time.
yep, the solution was leaving the nolts out. I’ll grease-up those threads before winter to keep em clean.I am having the exact same issue, were you able to find a solution?
When my door is off, I sprayed some WD40 on the threads and was able to easily tighten the nut all the way down. However, once i put the door on the hinge it stopped in the same place as in your initial pictures. I understand that not using the nut is a solution, but for peace of mind i would like to use them.
Ahh nolts, haha. I’ll probably do the same, thanks.yep, the solution was leaving the nolts out. I’ll grease-up those threads before winter to keep em clean.
Yea i'm going to give that a shot, thanks. i just ordered the "Lucas Oil - White Lithium Grease" on amazon. So i am going to try and gently clean the threads with some WD40 and a brush, then apply the white lithium grease to both parts and see if that works. I'll give an update if i can get it to work. I also purchased some new door hinge nuts (Mopar 6512894AA) to see if that helps.Nolts is funny. I got killed for calling them bolts earlier in the thread.
Like I said earlier, just order a small squeeze tube of white lube from Amazon. Before putting the doors back on put a little on your fingertip, apply lightly to the door “bolts” and I like to spread a little on the outside of the “nolts” too.
My doors lift in or out like I picked up the Jeep yesterday brand new.
If anyone is having this issue... sf5211 gave the solution. I did exactly what you said and the door hinge nut went back on with ease. The bolts are all the same. Your upper hinge is about a quarter inch longer than the lower hinge. The upper hinge needs to be threaded longer than the lower hinge. My guess is the hinge threads are cruddy. If you don’t want to pay the labor charge then take off the doors again, buy a small wire wheel for a drill and clean the hinge threads. (Don’t slip and hit your door with the wire wheel). Try to screw the bolt on the hinge while the door is off, back and forth with grease. Until it screws all the way up.
Tip: when I’m ready to reinstall my doors, I keep a tube of white lube handy. While the doors are still on the cart I dab just a fingertip and go around the hinge bolt and thread. Then I go around the black round bolts on the outside.
Do this and you’ll never have trouble removing your doors or have to buy those Quadratec hinge inserts.
This. These make doors on and off sooooooo much easier! When I removed the nolts I replaced with these pin guides to protect the threads on the door hinge and to make it slightly easier to put the door back on

So this is a replacement for the nolts? You hand tighten them ?When I removed the nolts I replaced with these pin guides to protect the threads on the door hinge and to make it slightly easier to put the door back on

Thats right. They work great and it does help get the doors on because with the pointed tip you gain a margin of error when lining up the hinges. So this is a replacement for the nolts? You hand tighten them ?
I took them put and never put them back. I put a little never-seize on each hinge pin. The door are a lot easier to remove. If you take your doors off on a regular basis just leave the nuts off. One less thing to have to remove when taking doors off in the future.
