2023 wrangler, I took my doors off this weekend. One of the nuts on the top hinge came off with the hinges screw part still in it. I got the sheeted off screw out, but there wasn't enough thread left for me to actually screw it on and have the nut stay.

After some googling. I see that luckily this isn't a big issue since some people run their jeeps with no nuts at all anyways.

If I did want to have a but there, is there somewhere I can buy a slightly longer replacement but? Or is the only real choice to replace hinge with screw part?

The 2026 Wranglers don't even come with hinge nuts nor a threaded stem to screw a hinge nut to. As far as your question, I think the stem is all one piece and replacing the whole hinge might be easier than trying to replace the stem. Or easier yet, just leave that one without a nut.

I agree, skip that nut. You don't need them anyway...

I broke off one of those hinge bolts; it's part of the hinge plate itself (at least on the 21s). Luckily they're relatively inexpensive, but come unpainted. I've got the spare sitting here waiting to go in (some day).

never in my year of owning a jeep with doors nuts I got that issue of not enough thread for screw the nut in.

OK guys, thanks for all the advice. I'll just skip putting the nut on I guess.

There is still the bottom one, so that's already 1 more than the new 2026s!

Yep. Somehow the nut got cross-threaded, and then welded itself to the threaded stud and just snapped off. Haven't swapped it yet since it seems solid with the remaining portion of the threaded stud and no nut and the lower hinge holding it in place.

As others mentioned leave it. Replacing the hinge will be a nightmare especially if you want to keep the original look

I took the nuts off my 97 sport 2000 sahara and my 2018 JLU Sport S when I bought them and never put them on. That was great on the 97 soft top because I could take those little half doors off and put them in the back. Haven't got them off my 2025 2dr sport s yet but it will happen soon.
