I have a 2020 2 door JL. I didn't realize that Jeep has an electronic front axle disconnect to improve fuel economy. Recently while driving in rain for about an hour I got the check 4WD light. It stayed on for the rest of the drive. After the vehicle dried off it went away. It has come on a few times since then in wet weather. I think that water is penetrating the seal on the FAD.

Anybody else having this problem? If so, have you solved it?

Unplug the connector, check for corrosion from water entry. Add dielectric grease.

Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a shot. I'm also going to save up for a custom front axle.
