Anyone know if there are airbags in the seats or a pillars? Also what the torque specs are for the seat bolts?

changing out my leather seat covers for some old fashioned cloth ones! Excited since the familyunhappy they cannot jump in the Jeep with wet clothes after time at the beach.

Thanks! I was so focused on looking at the a pillar and the seat, I missed it in the panel. So now the trick is how to remove the seat and airbag without tripping the airbag light— if this cave is anything like most.

It's easier to clean leather than cloth, and cloth absorbs water. Seems kind of silly.

But on a serious note--has anyone removed the JL seats to tell how much of a pain/danger the air bag thing is? it seems that the whole air bag is in the side panel not the seat itself, which makes swaping the seat covers a bit easier.

Just disconnect the batteries before disconnecting the airbag connectors. And leave them disconnected while the seats are out.

In cars with ignition keys, in the long-long ago, you would install the seat, hook up the airbag and turn on the ignition key before hooking up the battery (just in case they popped). You might want to find out from a dealer what the official key-less procedure is.

I changed my cloth seats to completely different set of leather seats and did not disconnect anything. Had no problem with airbag lights. In retrospect disconnecting the battery would be a smart idea.
