If you carry your Rotopax cans using the LOX mount, then you're probably aware of the barrel lock potentially jamming from exposure to debris and environment. I did some CAD work and made a dust cap and retaining clip for it, to reduce the likelihood that you won't end up with an inaccessible fuel can out in the middle of nowhere. I still do recommend applying lubrication on the barrel lock, but the combination of proper lubrication and this cap should significantly increase the reliability of the barrel lock.

There are two designs for the retaining clip. The original flat one is ideal if you like to have your cans mounted in a protected area, such as within the truck bed. The low profile one will be better suited if you mount your can on the exterior of your vehicle.

I'd probably just forego the clip and print the cap in TPU, scaled down to 98-99% for a snug fit. But great job on the model. Off to print a few.

It's a great idea.

I don't suppose it comes with a lock to prevent people from stealing it...

...which no doubt will require a cover to keep that lock working... <----------

I can design it specifically for the TPU, accounting for the snug fit and removing the weep holes. It's just the fact I don't have any roll of TPU so I can't test it out. I'll stop by Micro Center some time next week.

The neat part is the fact this entire thing costs about 30 to 40 cents to make if you have a 3D printer and roll of ASA, so you can keep extras in the trunk.
