OK, that is so helpful. Now I’m not chasing something that’s not even a problem. Today looking at the pictures you posted I see we both have the same towbar. I’m really digging your LOD front bumper. I’ve got the Mopar steel bumper. Warn winch. Still skid plate. Now my front end is really sagging. Cheers.

I purchased the same Mopar RV Towing Harness (82216358AB) and I'm reviewing the installation steps. I have 2 questions about step 12, posted below.

The diagram shows the connector with an unlocked icon and a locked icon.

Question 1
Do I need to unlock the connector and slide out the inside white plastic piece in order to install the pins?

Question 2
If so, how do I unlock it to allow the inside plastic piece to slide out?

I also included a pic of the connector below.

Here's the connector.

No To question number one. I am not sure how to unlock it.

On my 2020 JLUR I did have to run the factory flat tow harness from the engine bay all the way to the taillights and license plate. Here's a picture but it looks a little different than yours. My factory harness has been working great for over 10,000 miles. The wife and I are full time in our class A since March of this year.

Robie - I found this post of yours from awhile back. I’m about to install the Mopar Flat Tow Wiring Kit. Did you cut off the connector end and just wire it into a 6 Pin plug?

That’s what I want to do, Did you run into any trouble doing that?

Yes I did - I wanted a clean install and plug the “RV to Jeep cable” into the bumper. I was also able to use the 6-pin to charge the JL battery through my RVI Brake Shadow.

I did run into some wiring issues on the 6-Pin side. I installed the harness before I had an RV to test with. I had a couple of wires backwards and didn’t find out until we were at the RV dealership in TX. They helped me figure it out.

EDIT: It's been awhile since I did this so I forgot the details...
I actually kept the Mopar plug and cut the Mopar to 7-Pin (image below) cable from the harness kit.

Robie - Thank you that is exactly what I plan to do. Good to see your pictures.

1) Did you have to do anything else to keep the jeep/rv - brake/turn signal lighting from interfering with each other or did the Mopar Harness take care of that?

2) Do you know (you may never have looked) if when you are connected to the Motorhome do the Motorhome signals also show up at the four pin trailer tow lighting under the rear bumper?
I am going to power an auxiliary light bar on my bike rack. On my Jk I had to run a separate circuit to the back for that (the Hopkins harness I was using didn’t power the four pin plug). I’m hoping the Mopar might power it since it integrates with the BCM.

Sorry for the questions - but I don’t have the Jeep set up yet and the Motorhome is in storage.

I promise I won’t bother you any more after these questions !!

Not a bother at all - Ask away!

When I bought the Jeep used, it already had the Mopar tow package/harness installed. I installed the flat tow harness per the instructions and everything worked and didn't interfere with each other. I didn't need to do anything else.

We've used the Jeep 4 pin connector to tow a U-Haul trailer (not connected to the RV ) but not sure if the 4-pin works while being flat-towed. I can check next time we hook up but that's not for another week.

The attached picture is the pinout I use for the 6-pin side of the cable that plugs into the Jeep from the motorhome.

Robie - Thanks a million … you’ve really helped me out.
I’m going to start setting my Jeep up in 2-3 weeks. If it’s not to much to ask, when you hook up to your RV could you take a test light to your four pin connection to see if the Motorhome sends brake/turn/running light signal through to that plug??

JASim, I'm so sorry for not getting back to you! We were in MD and with all the bad weather, it completely slipped my mind. It was 6 degrees out the morning we hooked up and headed to Tampa.

I remembered when we were getting ready to leave Florida. Checked the Jeep 4-pin connector with it hooked up and the motorhome running. I had the headlights and the hazzards on. I didn't get any voltage from any pins. The Jeep rear running lights and hazzards were on and flashing.
