I found a hard top for sale for my 2 dr near me. I thought I read on another thread (can’t find it though) that when you install a hard top for the first time, if you bought the Jeep with a soft top only (not dual top option) that there are a couple of mounting pieces needed that are on the Jeep by default when you buy it with only the soft top.

Does anyone have any info on this? I’d like to get this hard top (it’s a good deal) and put it on for the winter months.

Thanks!

Yes you need the front latches over the rearvidw mirror and the ones in front of the dome light on the roll bar. I think DV8 makes some that are much cheaper than oem. I think i spent almost 200 for the two stupid ass oem pieces off mopar parts site.

Just know that you wont have any wiring or anything for the rear window wiper. Essentially thats why gas stations have squeegies

Im guessing you need two sets, just going off the pics it comes with a front and a back piece. Didnt read anywhere in there it came with 4. Says pre order, so i dunno if ordering those or the expensive oem ones would come quicker from a mopar parts site.

It says all neccisary parts included so it might come with all 4. Itd be kind of expensive to have to buy two. Maybe reach out to quadratec and see, id hate to steer you wrong either way. Not enough parts or spending unnecessarily lol

If the person selling the hard top still has the JL, maybe you could get the needed parts from him, won't need them anymore?

I just pulled all the extra brackets from the donor vehicle. Two brackets on the header by the rear view mirror - don’t forget to remove the trim pieces covering the gap where the latch sticks out (each one has 2 T15 screws) and pay attention to the L&R markings on the brackets, two more on by the sound bar and the bolts holding the rear shell to the body (unlike the JK, the threaded holes are already there but you will need the other brackets for the freedom panel latches to grab onto (rears are cheap but fronts are stupidly expensive if you forget them).
Made the dealer install the wiring and now have the dual top option (premium soft top) I would have ordered if it were an option on the 2 door.
