No pics of the "collection" but this has been a suprisingly solid rest. Harbor freight cargo carrier, a Dewalt 63 gallon storage box and an old Cabela's adjustable rest. Oh and a couple motorcycle straps to keep everything nice and snug.

With that HiLift and a few clicks, it should be rock solid.

That and a couple jack stands were the plan, didn't need it. It works even beter than I expected.

Curious if there is anyone else that shoots (competitive or recreational) or collects/makes blades as a hobby. What do you have or looking to collect?

I’ve got a ton of rail spikes collected. About to make a few new things with myself, got an idea for a tomahawk I’ve been wanting to do.
I’m not a collector, but I have tremendous respect for quality weapons and I have trained with them and relied upon them professionally for most of my adult life.

As a retirement gift my family and friends went in on a knife made by the guy in the link below. He’s a humble, quiet, guy who worked for Benchmade, then apprenticed for a famous custom knife maker before going out on his own. His shop produces fantastically beautiful, sharp, durable knives. The knife he made for me is a work of art, but it’s designed to be worn and used. It was a meaningful gift for me, and I expect it to outlive me by a lot.

03 A3 Springfield up top there?
yes sir, it’s a Smith Corona with all matching numbers with minimal throat wear. The only thing I did when getting it was strip it down to check all numbers, chased the crown to clean it up and cleaned the stock and then restored it with boiled linseed oil and bees wax.

I've never cared for long eye relief optics personally...
I added a 12" AMS Machine rail to my SOCOM and am running a 1-8X Trijicon Accupower...
The combo seems to work really well...

These old guns are starting to fade away. My father's 1903 A1 Springfield was "sporterized". In 1962, it probably seemed like the right thing to do, with tens of thousands of them floating around. Bummer now. An 03 A1 in original configuration would be slightly collectable. The A1 had a fully machined forged triggerguard and floorplate, and 6 groove rifling.

I bought a beautifully sporterized 1903A4 on a hunting trip to Texas that I wish I would have kept.
Frankly it was too fancy to shoot...Remington made 4-43 date...
