Hey folks...ordered my '22 Sahara 1/19/22. I have a VIN XXX179377.
I contacted Jeep Chat for a quick update.

"Thank you so much for holding. I am showing that your order is in the scheduling phase of the manufacturing process. The parts required to build the vehicle are being scheduled and as soon as they available and ready, order will be scheduled for build

My apologies we are no longer provided the status codes only the descriptions. We will be provided an ETA once the order is in the shipping stage. Is there anything else I can assist with today?"

I responded by telling them I and not interested in specific dates....just progress...It is not unreasonable for a customer paying over $50k to see 'what's going on'. I'll check back once every two weeks from here on out. I am guessing May sometime.... :(

Jeep Chat has never provided the codes. You would need to contact your dealer to get specific build codes.

This is from a previous thread on JK Forums...so yes they apparently did...

"You can check your order status at: https://fcacommunity.force.com/Jeep/s/knowledge

This is not an automated portal; you must hit the chat button and chat with an FCA rep who will give you the status of your build. Be sure and ask for the alphanumeric code; if you don't, they may just give you a "canned response".

Caution: checking your build status is fun (and addicting!), but can lead to frustration if yours gets stuck in "I" or "JB" for awhile (it happens).

Also, be aware that after your build is past KZ status, you will have to rely on your dealer for Traffic (shipping) info.

Longer lists of the alphanumeric codes (there are lots of codes) have been posted elsewhere on the forum; rather than repeat, here's a "short list" of some of the ones you may likely encounter:

D - firm schedule, serial number assigned
D1 - gateline; unit sequenced for production, estimated ship date assigned (but don't believe it)
E - framing
F - paint
G - trim
I - unit built, pending final inspection
JB - sent to body vendor (installation of accessories)
JS - sent to storage
KZ - released by plant and invoiced"

If they did for the JK they stopped for the JL. When I ordered mine last Christmas I could get generic updates through the chat but the dealership has access to tell you exactly which stage you're in. Jeep Chat is notoriously inaccurate as well, with people being told parts have arrived and getting a call from their dealer that their Jeep has landed.

They used to give you the code for the JL builds, but stopped a while ago.

if you get the specific wording from Jeep Chat you can line it up against the codes. And as noted, the dealer has them if you want some clarification or something doesn’t make sense.
