I just need to take a moment to express my extreme gratitude for @CoolTech. I purchased their All-in-one CB Kit which includes the Mic mount, antenna mounting bracket, CB, etc. I followed the directions, and also used this video to help out:
After everything was installed I had problems with tuning my antenna. I couldn't seem to get it to tune at all, and I was at a complete loss as to what to do about it. So I emailed CoolTech. Fortunately for me, Kendall responded quickly and gave me several things to check and we diagnosed it down to a potentially bad cable - and he immediately sent one to replace it.
It turned out to do the trick, but I left out a lot of detail, like the 10 emails back in forth full of all sorts of questions because I really didn't know what I was doing. Throughout the process Kendall was extremely patient and encouraging with me, and it helped me feel confident that I could get this thing working. Given that this is the first CB I've ever had, it was a steep learning curve when one little thing was off from the instruction book. I am so grateful for the fact they went the extra mile to help me out!
I'm now super happy that I have a CB! And it's no exaggeration to say I couldn't have done it without CoolTech. So I wanted to make sure and pass along my experience in case anyone else is considering a CB kit of their own.
