Factory style lug wrench

My new wheels use a 3/4” lug nut vs. the stock 7/8” so obviously the factory lug wrench won’t work. I know I’m probably looking for a unicorn, but does anyone make a factory style wrench in 3/4”?

As we all know, storage space is a precious commodity in a Wrangler so I’d rather not carry something in addition to what’s already there if I can avoid it.

I may need to go so far as to cut the end off of the factory wrench and weld a 3/4” socket in it’s place. Just not sure if that’ll work. I haven’t really looked at the factory piece to see if it will take welding well.

Sort of. Gorilla Auto makes a collapsible lug wrench. It's what I use, and you can put different sockets on the end, depending on your needs.

Alternatively, you could go get a good quality Breaker Bar, and a Socket and stow those away too.

Consider keeping a 16" breaker bar with the appropriate size socket in your JL at all times.

I have the socket attached to the breaker bar and the tool is placed in a 18" long piece of gray, foam pipe insulation.

I keep this affair, in the small compartment where the scissor jack is.
Fits right in on top. With the foam pipe insulation, I have no metal to metal related rattles.

I also keep an LED flash light in with the scissor jack

I learned long ago, you can be up chitt creek so to speak, sometimes trying to break lugs loose with the little tire iron that comes with the Jeep.

Once you see someone standing on a tire iron trying to break a lug loose and the lug snaps off, etc., you realize wise man/gal carries a breaker bar with socket as I do in the vehicle at all times.

Hadn’t thought about the pipe insulation. Crap rattling around was a big reason for not wanting to carry additional tools. I’ve got plenty of spare breaker bars and insulation is cheaper than buying a wrench.
