Factory Nav on 2024 Models?

The 2024 models have a basic built-in navigation system, correct?

I purchased a 2024 JLUW 4XE, and on the drive home from the dealership I could have sworn it had a factory navigation system…A basic map. But now that I’ve configured CarPlay the factory nav seems to have disappeared. I’ve gone through the settings and can’t find it. I even tried turning off CarPlay and attempted to use a voice command to pull up directions, but it just beeped at me.

I contacted Jeep Connect and they informed me that my vehicle does not have a factory navigation system and advised me that I likely test drove a different vehicle (one that has navigation) than the one I purchased. The only vehicle I test drove was the Jeep I ended up purchasing.

Am I going crazy?

Maybe... a Willys 4XE would still need the navigation package. Check out your window sticker or your build sheet, make sure you have navigation package on there. Otherwise it does not come standard.

Navigation on most vehicles is an added feature. I can't think of a single one that comes with navigation as a standard feature. Most people use CarPlay or Android Auto to fit the bill for that one. I for one never understood the point of navigation now that we have Carplay and Android Auto. In the past upgrading the navigation has always been at a cost. I don't know if it still is to this day, but any or all of the in-house navigation systems have always been trash compared to Google maps in my opinion.

I've never understood why companies don't just pay the Google tax and put Google maps on their navigation. Be doing the customer a favor in the long run.

On my 24 with navigation, map is one of the menus down the left side of the radio. Always there even with phone connected

That is an option. I personally like mine. Some don’t But if you don’t see a button on the screen you probably don’t

Factory nav isn't available on the Willys 4xe. I learned that this also means the highly publicized TrailsOffroad built-in maps won't be available on this trim either.

I also thought that all Wrangler 2024 models came with built in navigation. Of course, when I look for the information online - the model years stop at 2023.

Navigation on most vehicles is an added feature.

Maybe "most" - but our most recent Grand Cherokees all came with it standard and both of my Gladiators came with it standard.
They've really switched it up for the 24s, though - you really have to watch and check the right boxes if ordering or pricing and they've even bundled it with other crap in some levels.

You get a fair amount for the price. I'm not complaining.

Same here, the technology group got me navigation on my '24 Rubicon.
