I’ve looked at that possibility but I think I would probably return it before doing so. It appears to be the main bolt securing the unit to the top.

Okay….here are the videos comparing the two systems. The first video is the Extreme Trunk. I really wanted to like this system, but please take note of the Extreme Trunk’s inner walls and how high it sits on the floor when it is collapsed. Again, it just took up too much space that I needed.

Here is a couple of videos of the Diabolical Slipstream:

If you have any questions, feel fee to ask or hit me up. Also, I am in NO way affiliated with Diabolical, Inc. I’ve been running this system now for about 5 years. Absolutely love it.

Have a great day,
T

Yes, you’re right, that is a good bit of room on the left and right. When folded I could deal with it.

Question, the slipstream, is it just the first part of the lid that will open/flip back, or does the second piece as well?

Second part opens up also. Plus, you can completely remove it.

Has anyone installed this on a JLU with the one touch roof? The first issue I'm having relates to getting the side piece under the rear window frame. What bolts need to be removed to slide this under the frame? I've taken out the two on the bottom on each side but before I start taking off other screws I want to make sure of what I'm doing.

I've removed these two bolts on each side (the one is hidden behind the molding) with no joy.

TIA.

You may be in uncharted waters here if the Extreme Trunk company didn't realize the Sky One Touch top was different.

After watching the attached video, I'd say there are two bolts to remove on each side in order to raise the back corners up to slide those plates under, but then you will have spaced the One Touch top up a little higher and the rear quarter panel removable windows may not seal the extra clearance. Give it a try and see, or think about breaking out the jigsaw to cut the plates to match those corners without bolting them under anything.

Thanks. I’ve tried the two bolts. The window is still solid attached to the roof, which is bolted to the roll bar. No movement. Extreme Trunk sent me something that I haven’t had a chance to look at. Tomorrow.

Hi Bob — I joined this forum after finding this post and am wondering if you found a solution for the EZ Extreme Trunk install and the Sky One Touch top? I am in the same predicament — I do not really want to unbolt anything on the SOT fearing its function may be affected or the rear quarter windows may not seal. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I eventually took it to a shop. They loosened a couple bolts and with a couple people were able to lift it and slide the piece in. it’s working great With no sealing issues.

I have the EZ4X4 extreme trunk and it is very secure. I really like it as I drive a lot with the top and doors off.

i have many items from EZ4X4 and all of their products are top notch with excellent customer support.

Yep, I agree. I like their products and service. Did you install the extreme trunk with the Sky One Touch top? If so, how did the top fit when it went back on with the metal wings installed underneath it? Thanks.

No, I forgot to say, that I have a regular hard top. With their EZLift, I can take the top off my jeep in less than five mins.
