Has anyone installed this on a JLU with the one touch roof? The first issue I'm having relates to getting the side piece under the rear window frame. What bolts need to be removed to slide this under the frame? I've taken out the two on the bottom on each side but before I start taking off other screws I want to make sure of what I'm doing.

I've removed these two bolts on each side (the one is hidden behind the molding) with no joy.

I have no idea but their tech support center is open right now and their website says they can do a facetime or skype call to help walk you through any questions you have

I've called the tech center and talked to a person who had no idea of the issue. I've also talked to the owner, who is going to look into it and get back to me.

I assume you've watched the install videos on YouTube? I've been thinking about picking one up and have watched a bunch.

I bought one to replace my Diabolical Slipstream, which I had for almost 5 years. I really wanted to like the Extreme Trunk. But, after installing it, I noticed I lost a lot of room compared to the Slipstream...and I need that room. So, I took it out and put my Slipstream back in. Sold the Extreme Trunk and contacted Alan at Diabolical and he sent me some updated parts for my Slipstream. After that, I fell back in love with my Slipstream. LOL

What space did you lose with it? To me it appears to be the same space as the slipstream, but with the added benefit of being able to fold down

First, keep in mind, that everyone has different requirements. With the inner walls of the Extreme Trunk, you lose almost 4” in the width of the cargo area.

Second, the Slipstream has a door on the driver’s side wall that you can open to allow long items to go through.

Third, when you fold down the Extreme trunk, it takes up another 2-3” on floor.

For ME, losing all that space just didn’t work. I can post some videos later showing you want I’m referring to.

Yes, please do! I seriously thought it was my answer to all my wants (when I order my JL)

The post has taken a different direction than I was hoping for. Has anyone installed this on the one-touch roof and, if so, how did they lift that corner?

My apologies, Bob. Didn’t mean to hijack your thread. I’ll send those videos directly to DWR.

Will do! I’ll probably post them this afternoon. I have video of the extreme trunk, but I do not have any video of my Slipstream. Gonna make that real quick at lunchtime.

To get back on subject a bit. I think like the other options, you have to unbolt the top from the tub and slip it under before rebooting things down. On the flip side… you could cut a notch out and circumvent that.
