It is that time of the year and I was stupid enough to clear the error code which reseted all sensor data as well. After driving for a week or so the only remaining not ready sensors are exhaust gas and NMHC sensor. Does anyone know the secret to put the exhaust gas sensor into ready state? That's the only thing stand b/w me and the CA smog check.

Thanks,
Michael

After driving hundreds of miles with different drive cycles my exhaust gas sensor is still not ready. Does any one else have this issue? California recently changed the smog check rule to allow only PM and NMHC monitors to be incomplete in order to pass.

Thanks,
Michael

It's a long shot, but you can try calling your friendly local dealership, talk to the service manager and ask if he can look it up in the OEM Service Data on what it takes to ready the sensor.

Another option would maybe look at AllData or another third party that sells repair manuals.. I know some OEM's sell access to their service manuals, not sure about Mopar.

Mine reset after about 1000 miles of driving

Thanks.
@Jtaugner I did talk to one of the local dealers and he asked me the bring the car in. That will be my last resort cause I heard bad stories about the outcome.
@GSLSE21B What is your driving pattern like? Do you do fast accelerations with mixed highway and local driving? I go pretty easy on the pedal and wonder whether it's the culprit.

Mine was over a month long period of hard acceleration, slow 4 low crawling , in city traffic and highway cruising with cruise control active . Exhaust gas monitor was last to complete after a complete regen cycle occurred. I had an incomplete regen cycle at around 700 miles that caused it to take 1000 miles for the completion of all monitors .
