I've noticed in the last few weeks that my engine (2.0 L ETorque) is stuttering a bit at start-up. Not sure if it was doing this before. The RPM fluctuates up and down a bit, before gradually lowering into idle. It has been colder these last couple weeks - not sure if that had an impact.

Has anyone had similar issue or any insight?

Could be something as simple as water in your gas tank . I generally stay away from those little independent gas stations because I am not sure if they maintain their storage tanks and pumps up to the required standard. If their tanks have a leak then rain water will make it down to the tank. I like to support the non corporate business but when it comes to gas I don't mind breaking the rule. In Canada I stick to Shell and Esso.

I appreciate the response but that's certainly not the issue. Premium grade Chevron is the only gas that goes into my tank.

Greg, I'm just starting to experience this same thing. My Jeep has right at 60k miles that I hit today, and it started doing this two days ago. Also colder out here than it has been. Did you ever find out what was causing your issue?
