OK... I have to know... how did you attach the plastic brackets to the metal bar??
Creative zip tie use. I weaved them through the holes and then around the bracket to the other side and tightened them a lot. Then to increase grip I perpendicularly wrapped the ties themselves to tighten them more. Then I trimmed excess.

This might work
Have you tried this? I like the idea, but Quadratec says it fits 1.3-1.5in diameter. Element extinguishers are 32mm (1.26in) red shaft and 40mm (1.57in) on handle.

I have not tried it. I have mine mounted in a flashlight holder above the drivers door. But I thought this looked like a neat idea.

I agree, nice mount. I have mine w/ a piece of hook velcro on it (capture carpet) to stay in place. Works, but seems like it could be better.

Great choice! Smaller, lighter, no expiration, and works longer... what's not to like about them?

Element Fire Extinguishers - https://elementfire.com/

I put one under the front seat with my LifeStraw water filter and the other on the tailgate.

I think I am going to mount mine on the tailgate similar to what you've done. is this location still working out for you?

Slow to address mountings and method for fire ext. For my traditional fire extinguisher I got "Kool Guy" brackets and mounted on roll bars with heat shrink on hose clamp in back of my JT. Not "sexy" but solid and effective. IMHO: Zip tie's don't like heat /cold or U.V. The E50 I have just laying on side by seats with the factory plastic clips to keep them from rolling.
If anyone buys the pull pin brackets for fire extinguisher check knob to make sure it's not unscrewing. If it is use some lock-tite on threads you don't want to be unable to remove it when you need it "right now"
Rereading this thread reminded me to check my fire extinguishers again and that I need to replace one in my RV.

I’ve got mine mounted on the rear cargo shelf. Would make a lot more sense to have another one by drivers seat though.
