You ended up replacing the power steering pump? How involved was that job - was it a costly repair? Trying to narrow down the can bus glitching issue on my rig now but I seem to get every error/service message under the sun except power steering, and I don't think I lost any steering authority when the glitching happens. Ordering the bus blocks this week.
Check to see if it’s the pump first… disconnect the bottom plugin at the pump and if it clears all your errors except the pump, it may be the culprit. A pump is expensive… and on back order!

It’s not such a big job…. Remove the air box, there’s a little piece that directs air into the engine bay that you have to remove, the two screws that hold it in place are located behind the grill so you need to remove the grill and move one of the supports to get to them, remove the supports for the air box, and the power steering pump is there. Disconnect both electrical plugins. Disconnect the hoses and the reservoir ( I found it easier to remove the reservoir attached) and lastly, from the wheel well, remove the front bolt securing the pump and loosen the second and the pump should come out with no problems.

You can't test the Blocks. They just fail. Put in the new ones. And take a drive. 10miles or so. The scan your codes. The power steering pump is easy to replace. You can find a rebuilt one on ebay. Mine is at a shop to have the tranny flushed. And for them to test the pump and make sure. But it doesn't look like a tuff job.

Yeah, I got hands on the pump last night after doing a thorough look through of the rig as I suspected mice from a recent trip. Pump looks fine, easy to get to and swap, and the electrical connections looked good. Pulled both my front seats and all the carpet trying to look for any frays/rodent evidence but found none. Got the blocks ordered and going to keep digging in the cab in the mean time. Pulling my beat ass carpets is making me wish Armorlite had their full flooring replacement for the 2 door out! @Armorlite Kail is that still a possibility?

Do you know where the body control module is also?

No. But there is a thread out there that has the PDF download for the JL electrical. Maybe if you look through the threads I have quoted or responded to. You will find it

Found it. Looks dry and all the connections look fresh on mine with no sign of corrosion or rodents. If anything this is a good exercise to get 5 years of trail dust out of the dark depths of the rig.

hopefully the blocks do the trick, but at least the JL is easy to pull apart and follow the body harness around. I would be running for the hills if this were one of my past Audis.

Take a pic of the block in the back and post it. The part number should be on it too. But you really can't tell if the block is bad.

Anyone one know how to remove to star connectors from this

Yes. Take thin screw drive or peace if anything that fit under the plug gap and block. Push in on the release button and lightly pry up.

Sorry about my bad grammar. Thin screw driver or anything that will fit between the block and plug. Just be gentle
