Can anyone help?

Our brand new JLU Rubicon is having several strange electrical issues. The autostop stops working periodically for a week at a time. Other times works intermittently. The rear right LED tail light stops working intermittently as well. We also have noticed the volume not working at times and the radio stoped having sound all together (until AM button was pushed which oddly fixed it).

We brought it into the dealership one day when the autostop and tail light weren't working and as soon as we arrived they started working again! So the dealership said they couldn't look at it if nothing was wrong.

Later on it stopped working again.

This is REALLY irritating. The Jeep is BRAND new. Anyone having similar issues or can provide some help? Thanks in advance.

@N8VAL

DO go to the fuse box (power distribution center) next to the main battery and take the cap off. Now, press down firmly on every fuse and relay in there.

You will find fuses there that are not seated properly. Do not take it for granted the dealer tech has done this as undoubtedly he has not.

You may very well find that the issue you are having will be remedied by properly seating of all in the pdc.

@Rhinebeck01 Thank you for the suggestion. I did go to the fuse box and check to make sure all fuses were seated properly. Many were not so I fixed that. However, that didn't resolve my issue. I found the correct fuse for that light and the fuse doesn't seem to be the issue. Any other suggestions? I appreciate it. Thank you.

Unfortunately intermittent electrical problems are a b***h. Could be something simple like a loose ground wire but finding it isn’t so simple. Could be a bad connecting tab/pin inside a wire harness connector.

The dealer would have to hook up diagnostic equipment to find it.

I found a loose ground wire on my Mustang years ago by taking voltage drop readings. Not an easy task. I imagine most dealer techs don’t have the skill set to trouble shoot without a computer telling them exactly what’s wrong.

Sorry, this isn’t really any help.

I hope you get it figured out.

Might seem extreme, but you should do some research on lemon laws in your state. If the dealer is unsuccessful at fixing the problem multiple times, it may qualify as a lemon.

Right now we have an appointment scheduled with the dealership for next week. The dealership closest to us wants to keep the Jeep for 4 days before they even look at it, then however long to actually figure out what's wrong. They have no loaner vehicles available in the forseeable future and I can't go that long without a car. We're taking it back to the dealership we bought it from which is an hour away. They have to keep it 2 days before they can get to it. Hopefully it won't take them forever. I'm not super hopeful that they'll even resolve my issues. As it is I'm stuck driving around a Jeep with a back tail light out which is illegal, but I have no choice. I looked into lemon laws for Texas and they state for a vehicle to be eligible (for a non-safety issue) you have to take it to the dealership 4 times with the same issue unresolved and the vehicle must be under 24,000 miles or less than 2 years old (which ever comes first). I really don't know what step you take after that. A few weeks ago I tried to take the Jeep in to have it looked at for the back tail light and the auto stop not working. Neither were working when I left my house and by the time I drove the 15 minutes to the dealership the back light miraculously comes back on. :-( So they tell me they can't do anything since it's working now. I leave. A few days later I notice neither are working again. Sigh....

Why do these dealers need to keep the Jeep 4 and 2 days before they can even look at it? Is this normal?

What qualifies as a safety issue? Might a rear brake light/reverse light not working qualify?

We took the Jeep in to the dealership. They kept it for 6 days. They were able to fix the rear tail light issue (replaced the unit due to a short in the LED). When we got it there they noticed the 3rd brake light wasn't working either. They said it had something to do with a low voltage issue and fixed that. The Auto Stop/Start was an issue with the auxiliary battery. They finally replaced the battery (at least that's what they documented) and told us everything was fixed and we could pick it up. We got to the dealership and saw that the Jeep had 29 more miles on it than when we dropped it off. They said it was for test driving it trying to charge the auxiliary battery. (Whatever). I drive it off the lot and they had left the Auto Stop/Start notification screen up so I see that it says "Auto Stop/Start Not Ready - Battery Charging". I live 49 miles from the dealership. My entire drive home I get the same message. We call the dealership back when we get home and the guy says, "It should go away after 30-50 miles. The battery just needs to charge up." Days later we're still waiting. Looks like we'll have to schedule another service appointment.
