I’ve searched and not found anything. i’m going to install some power steps. Any reason I can’t power them off an aux switch So I can turn them off and on? i’d rather not have the secondary switch most come with.

For the RSE steps the switch appears to be an 'enable/disable' switch rather than an actual power switch. Removing power to the steps (by pulling the fuse) results in a full reset of each step's controller and respective self-test / calibration cycles. That is different than just using the provided switch.

I don't see any reason you couldn't power the steps from an Aux switch (1 or 2 for the higher current limit), however you would still need to use or modify the existing switch wiring to 'enable' the steps.

Regarding the Aux switches, although I use the 'remember last setting' function they occasionally fail to remember and return to the 'off' state. If yours do that too it might be a source of frustration by sometimes causing your steps not to deploy.

The one reason not too is that if you let your Jeep sit for a few days the battery will drain slightly and disable the accessory switches until it's charged back by driving it. I originally connected my amp research power steps to an accessory switch but later went direct to the battery because after a few days of setting my steps would not operate (accessory switches disabled) until the battery was charged back by driving it. It was just a hassle to deal with.
