It’s not exactly off-roading, unless you count planes taking off! Is anyone else planning on bringing their JL and camping during the week? I’ll be loading my two door down with my tent and other supplies, and staying for at least a few days during the week. It’s a couple hour drive from the BoH trail in Tigerton, among other trails in the NE part of the state.

Edit: here’s the link to the event
https://www.eaa.org/airventure
EAA AirVenture is the world’s largest airshow in Oshkosh Wisconsin. It’s in the east-central part of the state. It’s a week-long event centered around aviation. The airport becomes the busiest airspace in the world for a week.

I figured it’s worth a post seeing how it draws such a huge crowd from around the world, and the relative proximity to one of the Badge of Honor trails.

It might be a good idea to give a link to whatever it is, and at least specify a part of the country.
Edited accordingly! I assumed Tigerton (the BoH trail) was enough of a giveaway, but we both know what happens when you assume.

Would love to go, watched some of the air arrivals on derTube, warbirds and bushplanes are what I love.
I have a single seat, 3/4 scale cub on big tires that I wanted to fly in. I just couldn’t get it in for a condition inspection in time.

I have not been to EAA for over ten years, but when I lived in Minn. My father and I would fly over there every year for the week during the 80's and 90's. Then when I moved only 30 miles away from Oshkosh, I would just drive over for the day. Now the only time I get back to Wi is to go snowmobiling. I would highly recommend going. My parents took a quick fight from EAA into Canada and back on the concord one time that we were there. I should have taken that flight with them.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, I close this week on a C180, no time to get there.

I’d say you have a good excuse!
