DV8 LED Headlights

Anyone receive these lately ?
I placed order through Summit on Oct 7th.
At that time I was told 4 weeks out..... ok I'll wait.
Then Nov 20th I call DV8 directly to check on an update and was assured a shipment was coming in on Nov 25th ! He saw my order and said I'll be on that list.
Still nothing.... I just called DV8 again (12/17) and was now told Jan 7th !!
I asked if that Nov 25th shipment ever came in and he couldn't answer that......
Both times the salesman was rude and couldn't give a turd.
So frustrating....

yeah, I got mine couple weeks ago and originally ordered September 23rd. Installing Christmas Eve.

well, I got them installed, aside from the extra wire. It does seem like a flap or something moving inside when they flip from low to high beam. Not sure if the oem Mopar does the same thing. There is an obvious click.

HOWEVER,, did anyone else know they have blue LEDs in the halo rings??

I found this out when I turned the “light show” function on with the tazer. Not something I would mess with very often, just thought it was kinda cool (a little funny actually).

most of the day was wiring the fender lights though. Not fun pulling the fender wells off.

Oh, wait,,, Now that I switched the daytime running lights back to the fenders, the halos turn blue at first when I hit the unlock button, then fade to white.

Hi/Lo projector lights (LED or HID) all have what's called a "shutter" , which is between the lens and the bulb and is what generates the cutoff line when on low beam. The shutter flips down (the lens flips the beam over) and lets the high beam on.

Very likely, since this is a clone of the OEM light. But, the sound of a mechanism can be much different with just small changes in force and speed, etc..

There are also other dual filament projectors that use one for the low and another for the high beam, which do not have any moving parts. The high beam sits above (actually below, since the lens flips the projected light upside down/left to right. So everthing inside the projector is reverse of the light projected.).

Finally got mine delivered and installed them right away. I did NOT wire the DRL halos yet (waiting for warmer weather).

1. Install took all of 15 mins. Very easy Plug and Play
2. They are much brighter (white light) and crisper than the Halogens.
3. I too have the flutter switching from low to high but it is so subtle it does not bother me one bit. I probably wouldn't have noticed it if it weren't for the other comments.
4. I too have the blue halo light at first but thankfully it fades to white after a second.

Overall very impressed and pleased with the product.
Worth the 3 month wait.

I just installed them today. Overall pretty happy. I note that the instructions that come with the lights are worthless. It is one page in Chinese with drawings that are nonsensical.

I think these are identical to the Skyline LEDs. I ended up using the following video and the installation was spot on:



One issue that is a bit strange: every once in a while when toggling between the various light settings in the car my driver’s side DRL will go out. The passenger side stays on. The driver’s side is where I tapped in. Turning the car off and back on again or sometimes even just toggling back through the light switch back to “auto” will turn the driver’s side DRL back on. If I always keep the light switch in “auto” then the DRL stays on. Any ideas what may be going on?

Just keep in mind the Mopar kit requires a headunit flash. The DV8 ones don’t.
