So…very basic instructions has me here asking this.

2020 Wrangler Willys

How do you install the DS18 JBASS enclosure to the tailgate. I get that we are going to have to drill through the plastic panel but there’s no pre drilled holes behind it. Are we going to have to drill through metal to make holes?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

There’s actually pre-drilled holes on the tailgate. If you remove the trail rail panel, three holes are present.

I have a custom ported enclosure on my tailgate and checked out how other tailgate enclosures are mounted; I.e. Stinger enclosure. (Video on YouTube, PDF instructions on site)

https://stingersolutions.com/products/subwoofer-enclosure-jeep-wrangler-jk-jl

It comes with its hardware of course. So I basically copied some of the parts. Nylon spacers and washers with similar length bolts.
Got all parts on Amazon.

On my install, I removed the entire panel. Drilled two holes on the bottom as per Stingers instructions. And removed the trail rail panel (top part)

Drilled holes on my enclosure to mount using the tailgates three holes.
On the bottom I used two brackets. Pretty sturdy.

We did remove the panel and there doesn’t seem to be pre drilled holes that match up to the jbass enclosure mounting holes. I’ve emailed the company so hopefully they have some insight…lol.

So I looked up the JBASS. Seems like they attach using the 4 corners.

I would just make holes in the box like I did. Like I said mine didn’t come with pre-drilled holes but using the instructions from Stingers tailgate box helped a LOT.

So I used what’s circled in red.

I used longer bolts on top three; think70mm
Lowers 10mm shorter with angle brackets to hold the box up for more support.

For the lower holes I did drill into the panel. Can’t see it though.

Hope you get it figured out.
