This happened out on a trail today. The lower mounting bracket that attaches to the side of the Jeep seems to be OK. Where the base of the mirror that connects and allows to pull in/turn out is broken and the shell around the actual mirror MIGHT be salvageable. Think all the internals are OK (haven’t tested the electrical function yet). Anyone know what parts I would need without replacing the entire mirror? The complete setup is about $130 online. Temporary zip tie fix. Was folded in when it broke off so the way the broken pieces/tabs allow it to sit for now require it to be lined up like it was when it broke. Thanks

10-4. Thanks for the heads up Rhinebeck. Appreciate your wisdom: saves me time researching trying to do just that. Anyone got a complete replacement they want to sell on the cheap ??

A friend!

But yes, you’ll have to get an entire new mirror. I ordered one then got lucky and found a guy on here selling a set from his half doors because they didn’t come with the sensors.

Good luck!

Well, since all of the internals and electrical components were still working I decided to try some DIY before spending ~$150 on a totally new mirror. Turned out nothing a little JB Weld and redneck engineering couldn’t fix. Used a Dremel to cut off the jagged/broken edges where the mirror connects to the base. Applied some JB Weld to attach it and left overnight. Drove it to drop off kids and then to work: city, highway and interstate up to 70mph. So far, so good. Obviously I lost the ability to fold in the mirror but works great otherwise. Going to put something on the seams if the shell around the mirror as well. Snapped back together good bit just to make sure water doesn’t get in. If it turns out I need to completely replace it in the future, so be it. Works for now and can throw that $150 at a bumper or something. Thanks for your previous advice. Until the next one (but hopefully not)

That looks great! I still have the old one so maybe I’ll give this a try to have as another back up. It’s not the first time I’ve taken out a mirror so I don’t mind having a few laying around lol.
