Driver side dome light will not turn on while jeep is running

I have a 2025JLU and when it is running, the driver side dome light will not turn on when I press the little button above my head however, if I open the door, the light will turn on. Is this some sort of safety feature? Can this be turned off in the settings? If so, I can’t seem to find it. If anyone has this issue, have you resolved it?

I don’t have the answer, but I‘m curious, in that same scenario, does the passenger side dome light switch work?

My 24 turns on just tried it

Yes. The passenger dome light, as well as both of the back seat lights turn on when I press them. It’s only the front driver lights turn that does not. It

Thank you checking. It’s just so weird! I’m wondering if it’s a safety feature. You know, like, “don’t turn the light on while you are driving” kinda thing??? I don’t know!

Yes. I just check led that. And it opens when the door opens. It only will not turn on if I push the light to try and turn it on by itself.

It almost sounds like there is an issue with that switch/button.

I thought that too but it works when the vehicle is on accessory tho. Starting think it’s just some stupid safety feature! Lol
