Door sill covers cause damage?

Hey all. Everyone knows the design flaw with the Quadratec and Rugged Ridge sill protectors causing a gap in the rubber door gasket. The design flaw is obviously the hump covering the bolt. Simple fix for both of them would be to stop the protector before the bolt. Not like anyone steps on it. But then neither could advertise being the longest on the market. Marketing driving warranty. Smh.

Question is... has anyone experienced damage to the gasket from running these sill gaurds or is just another gap? Easy fix would be to just cut them right behind the bolt. I have the Quadratec ones sitting in the garage. Going to install them regardless. I am not sprouted about a little gap. Different story if it is going to cut the rubber door gasket.

I have no experience with the Quadratec but am posting because others who have not yet purchased might want to know of an alternative that I recently installed and it is not as likely to have the problem you write about. In my opinion for most, sill covers are overrated. Unless you have small children that constantly step on them, no reason to use them. The sills on my 2022 JLR still look brand new. Wash tbem and throw down a quality coat of wax and you are good. As adults, next to zero reason to ever set foot on them.
