Do you take daily or weekly medications for health related issues?

I had a recent conversation about age and medications and it got me wondering. Not short-term, like for a headache, but do you take regular medications related to health issues?

Do you take any medications on a regular basis (daily/weekly) for high blood pressure, your heart, diabetes, weight management, pain management, any other health related issues, etc.?

The poll is consistent with a previous conversation I had with a medical provider. Thanks to those who have responded.

Thanks everyone.

I recently had a nurse tell me it was very out of the ordinary for people not to take medication(s), regularly (heart, blood pressure, diabetes, etc.), by age 50.

I probably should, but I don’t. Don’t have a regular doctor. When I finally do go, I’m sure they’ll put me on something (or at least try to ??‍♂). I’m a month away from turning 58.

Between my bi-polar, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, vitamins, back pain, etc I take around 25 pills a day. I figure they all help me in some way so I don't mind taking them.

Well hit the gym four days a week and hike/walk 5 to 10 miles three days a week helps keep the meditational needs at bay.

Unfortunately, yes. And quite a few. Gout hit me at a fairly young age. So now I have a lot of problems with my feet, knees, and hands. Can feel it spreading to my elbows now too. I try to stick to the diet and get plenty of exercise, but it's a downhill losing battle to time.

I don't normally take anything even for headaches unless I have a bad one for more than a couple days. I've had back pain since I was in 6th grade, so I'm used to dealing with it without medication too. My wife thinks I'm crazy to not take medication when I'm hurting, but I just tell her that I have a higher tolerance to pain than her.

I have been taking 4-5 meds a day for quite a while and they seem to do the job as intended. However, I had a serious event at the end of January and was given a new medication thru IV for 4 days in the ICU and now I take it in pill form. You have to be hospitalized when you start this medication. Anyway, it has knocked me for a loop, never had the reaction to my other meds like this one. I have to go to the hospital every 3 weeks for evaluation, getting ready to tell my doctor to give me something different. This med has 4 pages of possible side effects and I have experienced more than a few already.

It has been rough compared to my other meds. I am hoping things calm down a little bit. Don’t get old LOL.
