Do you leave D rings on?

I am worried about banging and clanging. Do you leave them In recovery bag or on bumper? How do you stop banging if your leave them on?

I did on my JK when I had it. It wouldn't clank because the bumper had a taper below it (much like that WARN one) and so the D-rings just dangled there unable to hit any metal.

I think 2 red D-rings on there would look great to go with the Firecracker Red Jeep.

I replaced my Mopar bumpers because I wanted something more substantial than small hooks. My D-rings are only used when a winch is involved.
In addition...here in Minnesota, the roads are bathed in salt for nearly half of the year. Steel D-Rings are much stronger than stainless ones, but they rust, so my D-Rings are packed away for those few times when I really need them. Rubber coating only protects the rings if the rubber doesn't wear off...then you have possible corrosion eating away under the rubber layer.
It all depends on why you have D-rings...because you will need them or you want your Mall Crawler to look like you just came back from the Rubicon Trail.

What I did on my JK was installed black hosing. I found a hosing at the local hardware store. It fit snugly over the spindle. I cut the in lengths about 1/4" wide and slipped them on either side of the spindle to take up the empty space. This stopped the lose movement, but still allowed for use. If that makes any sense at all!

I like it a lot. All around clean nice and good looking. Seems perfect to me. Just need to work something out to fit the front license plate on.
