They look like they have at least a few hundred miles. They must be listed for a really good price to drive 5 hours for. That’s like 300 miles.

Most takes offs have the TPMS removed and put in their new setup. So make sure you are aware of that as an added expense. If they have sensors that’s a plus.

They look fairly new to me. I see they're BF Goodrich... What's the model and tire size?

The original tread depth should tell you a lot about how worn they are. ;)

You only need to concerned if the corners are visible I think… ?

Date codes are good. 20th and 21st week of 2023.

Price and your fuel to go get will be a bit over $550 for $1300 worth of tires. And yeah they look almost new. You will still have to pay to mount and the new TPMS sensors.

They’re off a ā€˜24, so you’ve got that going for you. Unless someone has really gone out of their way to deceive, you’re probably okay. As @The Last Cowboy said, be sure TPMS is part of your equation. Not really a deal breaker if they’ve been removed, but you’ll need to figure it into the total cost. Good luck, and safe travels! ?

Those tires still show the nubs on the outside of the tread. They're new enough not to squabble over 100 vs x00.

TPMS sensors won't work in your 2018 if those tires/wheels are off of 2024.

When you go to pickup, do look over each tire very very closely. Look for plugs.

Recently, a local guy had 5, 2023 takeoffs for sale on FB Market Place.... he advertised they had 10,000 mi. and unused spare .....and that all 5 tires and Rubi rims were mint. I asked twice, if any tires were plugged and he said no both times.

Long story short, I went to pick up and one was plugged. It was pretty obvious the guy tried to hide the plug by coloring/covering the plug with dark tire shine. Frigging lying 45+-yo scumbag thought he could take advantage of some/ this old 75 yo.. Wrong!

Anyway, do look over the tires closely. Always best to do the look over in daylight..

I guess it boils down do how much you want them, driving 10 hours (5 each way) plus the fuel and inconvenience of your time? Are you also getting the spare?

I have sold a number of wheels and tires in the past but I have never found such a deal that it would be worth than much effort unless they were almost nothing and then you have to worry about did they have a sidewall fix, why did the original owner want to dump them.

Finally, factor in the cost of dismount TPMS changeover, added mileage and wear and tear plus whatever else. Dont forget to empty out your jeep, a set of wheels and tires takes up a lot of space. Do your homework carefully and best of luck.

Prices here around LA are all very high for take offs, but they want $1000 for all 5 - new set of 5 tires + install is like $1700 itself at discount tire.

I figured $1000 for 5 low mileage rim and tires (upgrade to rim looks from stock 2018 jl), $140-$160 round trip gas at ~18 mpg, and a quote from discount for $168 to install TPMS from my current wheels to new so lets just round everything up to $ 1400 for ease sake. then potentially can sell old rims + Spare and the 2024 sensors for a little money back?

stole this from my response below. Its hard to find a decent looking set around here in LA for that bargain price. i was kind of just looking at it like this.

That's good advice, I will definitely do that with any tires i decide to pick up. im just trying to figure out now if its worth the drive and time. decent set of 5 around here in LA are priced way up there like 1400(used)-1600(new) and people dont seem to want to negotiate down. These are $1000 + gas + Sensor swap so around $1400 all in i figure and then can try and sell old rims and possibly the 2024 sensors?

1700 for 5 new ordered tires + install from discount

Still might not be worth it

?… they look a little tired!

as others have said, as long as theyre not plugged and are more or less about the same depth (if youre matching them up for front or back replacements), they should be good to spin. ??
Oh, also look for sidewall damage, thats the real back breaker (cuts, slices, bubbles, major stuff like that)

i got a quote from discount for $168 to do the swaps on the sensors, just trying to figure out now if its actually worth it to do the all in cost or just keep waiting

I think I spy the 4xE blue badging in the center of the rim. Idk if it being a 4xE rim is a compatibility concern though.
