They only draw 2.7 amps, so yea your safe. I've got their light bars wired up to my aux switches. I'd put them on 3 or 4 and save 1 and 2 for anything that might be a higher amp draw that you put on.

You could, but it'd be overkill. Factory switches rake care of that.

Appreciate the info above as I just ordered a pair for myself. How about the SS3 pods with the backlight feature? Any way to use the built-in aux switches and still use the backlight?

I connected the backlight wiring of the SS3 LED POD to AUX 3
After doing this, I selected the Power Source setting as Ignition
This is the same way as DRL and I love the backlight of Diode Dynamics

Oh nice, so you went with the fogs and used the original OEM harness and vehicle fog switch for them, but just the backlight is wired to the AUX switches. I like that. Hadn't thought about doing it like that. Thanks for the info!

Installing these as well, except using the standard mount and putting it on the bumper. Keeping stock fogs in steel bumper. I like the idea of the backlight set through auxiliary 3 and having it on with ignition, but can you have both the backlight and the full light on at the same time (when you turn it on with Aux4) or will that cause issues.
And - would it be possible to use a Deutsch splitter and use the factory fog light switch to turn on factory fogs and DD lights and then wire backlight to aux switch?

Thanks!

Just to add to this thread, this morning I ordered the SS3 Pros to replace the OEM LED fogs in the bumper of my 23 Willys 2-door. I went with the driving beam to get some more range with low beams on. The OEM fog location is right at 24” which is ideal for driving beam. Will update this thread once installed with impressions and review.

This thread has some info in it that you may find helpful in regard to the install of the SS3 Pros..

Thank you sir!

ETA: that was a great thread! I was wondering how to adjust up/down with how the two screws are set up. I liked how you just pushed the light flush with the bumper and it worked out. Hopefully, the driving beam works the same way. Though, I do think I want to aim the beam same as either the low beam or high beam cut off.

Funny thing, your comment about the CJ Off-road video is exactly what I thought when I took of the plastic panels off to check out the OEM mounting plate. I couldn‘t get that panel off without removing the lower air dam. And even then, hand to pull it off with a lot of force. YouTube edits…
