I found this situation interesting and looked to get you info.
- Checked the order options from Jan 17, 2022 on this forum, no option 3alpha code found
- Checked "build your own" at Jeep.com and no option for engine block heater
- Couldn't find any info of a block heater coming with the diesel or as an included item in a package (like cold weather package)
- looked at Allmoparparts.com . Got what I believe is the part number for mine. I believe this is the correct one, if you are going to order one PM and I'll send you my VIN to compare to. But That is just assuming 2022 would work with 2021 engine block heater Mopar PN: 68357705AC . I don't see why they wouldn't be compatible, but you never know.
If you're looking to see if you have the block heater I think the best angle to check is from underneath. This is what it looks like, my brass fitting (pic above) had no threads so I suspect it has to be removed to install the heater.

Does anyone know if I will be needing both of these parts to install an engine block heater on my 2021 3.0 EcoDiesel which doesn't have this option from the factory?

Not that I'm necessarily going to need it in Texas, but I do plan on taking the Wrangler to much colder climates in the years to come and would rather just be prepared now.

I would expect you do. That first link is to the power cord. The second is the block heater itself.

Cummins diesels all came with a block heater installed. I always got the power cord (and oil/fuel filters) for my truck from a Cummins distributor.

If I remember correctly it was around $300 from a Dodge dealer but only $60 from Cummins. Its just a three prong extension cord with Christmas tree fasteners already attached.

Be advised; there are various heaters and cables with similar attachment points. They all look alike and the element may fit the threaded mounting hole but the plug specs are a wee different. Looking at the heating plug in one hand and the cord in the other would appear to be a match, not a 100% certainty. The pins are spaced just a fraction of mm different from one model to the next, enough to not allow a mating.

I purchased a heater element and cord separate based on information at JLWrangler forum user statements. Fail! Couldn't find a "set" anywhere. Going to Jeep dealer with element in hand ended with the proper cable, his first try was not exact fit but the second was.

The best part is I found out it is a pocket design, so no messy coolant to deal with on the install. I would just take the one off my 21 that I'm selling to Carvana, theres only one bolt, but it looks like its buried, hard to get to.
Unfortunately this is not accurate. If you care about the color in the reservoir, get Mopar original.
I park in the garage most of the time, and we have pretty mild winters here most of the time, but I travel to Colorado, Idaho, and Montana a few times a winter so figured the extra $100 on the order was pretty cheap insurance if I ever wanted/needed it.

I was out skiing around New Years and it was -5 to 0 for the 4 hours I was out. Jeep started right up when I got back to the parking lot. Barely even any glow plug warm-up time. I had similar experience with the 2018 in some negative temps. Certainly nothing like the diesels from even 10-15 years ago with cold starts.
After seeing videos of cold start modern diesels, I have changed my old beliefs. It was standard procedure to use AC power to keep it warm and/or 30-60 seconds of glow plug. Things have changed and now wondering if I'll ever plug it in.

Honestly, the amount of times where I will actually need it, I could probably count on one hand after the lifetime that I have my Wrangler, however what I am trying to do is shorten the amount of time I'm idling it in the mornings when it's colder outside.

Basically when it's 30° outside in Texas for like 2 months, I don't want to be idling for 5 minutes just to get it warmed up, I'd rather idle for like 20 seconds and then get going. More time to do the things I need to do and to get to work and go places, and less time sitting there dumping soot back into my engine!
