I was fortunate to win a set of General Tires tires at the Jeep Jamboree in Mullan, ID, this past weekend. I have a dilemma in that I have about 7,000 miles on my '23 Willys and no where near time to get new tires.
I'm not sure how well the Grabber A/Xt compare to the KO2s I currently have. The KO2s did quite well during the jamboree on trails that ran up to about level 6.
My options as I currently see them are:
1. Order the tires, possibly upgrading to 37's and stack them in the garage until I need them.
That could be quite a wait as I have only 7k on a year old Wrangler.
2. Order the tires and (try to) sell my KOs when the new tires arrive.
No idea what 7K KO2s would go for around the Seattle area.
3. Barter/sell the tires to someone LOCAL for a decent discount. I'd have to have cash upfront so I'm not left hanging on tires I don't want/need.
Regardless of the option, the certificate does NOT include mounting, balancing, valve stems, rotating, flat repairs, or road hazard coverage. Some tire stores will provide the services and hazard coverage for a fee. Also, per the certificate, I need to allow up to 8 weeks for delivery.
Thoughts? Recommendations? Offers?
Thanks!
