Rubicon JLU. It's a Jeep.
O love the Saline Valley area and of course the Racetrack etc but we'e never tried to connecting route as we travel alone and as you guys know, Death Valley is not a part of the world to be stranded in. Good to read in this thread that a stock Rubicon should be able to handle it just fine, we're overdue a return trip to the area.

I just got back last night from DV. What a great place. We came in through Titus canyon hitting a few stops along the way. Then headed to see the Ubehebe Crater. We camped at Mesquite springs camp ground. then headed out to all the small touristy spots. like stove pipe, Furnace Creek, Devils Golf course. then headed out into Anvil Spring Canyon towards Mengel pass. Camped at Russel camp for the evening then headed up into Mengels pass and out to Ballarate then up to Mahogany Flat for another evening of good food and camping. On the last day we went to Darwin Falls for a nice little hike. The valley was pretty smoky and you could smell the creek fire thats burning in the Sierras. all in all the trip was great. the days where anywhere from 103-85 and at nice it was around 65-55 depending on the area. with a nice breeze. have a great trip and be safe.! ( note i have a JLUS no lockers just LS and Rubicon take off 33" tires and managed all the areas with only tapping a coule times on my fuel tank and a shock mount. nothing to bad at all. Rubicon should handle this trip stock all day long.

Headed out last weekend with my daughter on a last minute trip. Kept it tame, up through Panamint Valley and took Wildrose up to Mahogany Flats, then dipped down to Furnace Creek. Temps are relatively mild, especially down in the valley, and the roads are in great condition. Can't wait to go back in a few weeks for a proper trip to Saline Valley.
