Delivered April "22, No issues until...

Was away for a week, battery completely dead. Charged, everything fine for several weeks. Drove Friday no issues. Sunday, battery dead again (5V)

I know I had read something about the little battery going bad and taking out both and a way to disconnect it permanently.

I'll search harder when i get home. Any troubleshooting tips welcome.

If you have eTorque, replace your main battery. If you have ESS, replace the main and AUX together or consider bypassing the AUX.
OEM batteries are not the best

Thanks for the info. I've had the ESS bypassed via a Tazer for probably a year, so I think I'll disconnect the AUX and be done with it for now.

At the very least that should tell me if it is going bad and dragging down the main battery, which is my guess.

Is it a theory that bypassing the ESS via Tazer can cause the AUX battery to go bad over time? I was thinking I read that, but I've read a lot of posts. ?

I'll get my main load tested this week and see how it looks.

Did you buy your Wrangler used? Trying to figure out how you got to 42K miles with the same battery in one year?

just to clarify the 3.6 with torque has ESS also correct? At least mine does so if either one of my batteries dies I have to replace both?

Both have start/stop. If you have eTorque you just have a 48v battery mounted on the underside of the Jeep instead of the AUX battery under the PDC in the enhine bay. The 48v battery has an 8 year warranty and not really customer replaceable.

Thanks @TheNewGuy, you are correct. It's my DD.

On a side note, anybody know what this thing is? Assume I need to leave it attached when I disconnect the AUX negative cable.

OK, Fuse pulled, AUX negative cable unhooked and tied back.

Green indicates the AUX cable on my '22 JLUSS and the fuse I pulled.

Note of interest which I had read but ignored, pulling the fuse before disconnecting the cable is required. I didn't do it that way the first time and got the dash error message and yellow A warning.

What's even funnier is that this thread was next to the "What's the highest mileage Wrangler you have seen" thread... I think the OP is a future contender... :)

Also, just for reference, the check engine light was flashing after I got her all charged up. I pulled the codes with my BlueDriver. All the codes were thrown due to the dead battery issue as I had literally just checked for codes last week and it came up clean.

Was able to reset them all except the "permanent" one that BlueDriver claims will resolve itself when I drive it, if it was indeed a glitch.
