The Jeep is locked in the garage. The key is no where close by. When I pull on the door handle, or press the proximity door lock, I can see the infotainment system and the dash cluster turn on, even though the Jeep is locked and the key is not close by. Is this normal behavior? Doesn't make sense. (to be more clear, the door remains locked)

Another questions, the radio always turn on when I turn the Jeep on. I have to hit the mute button every single time. This is doesn't make sense either. Why the radio is always on by default? I looked into the settings, and I couldn't find a way to disable it.

Thanks,

Seems normal to me for the dash to light up. My wife's Volvo does it and her Lexus before this one did as well. Not sure why, but it does.

As far as the radio, that is normal. If you want it off you have to turn it off. It defaults to how it was when you turned the Jeep off.

There are two largish circular knobs on the radio. The left one turns the radio on/off if you press it in the center. If you turn it off this way instead of muting it should stay off when starting.

Look for the hazard flasher button while you're at it. Hitting that one by accident can be stressful if you can't find it while driving.

Unless you actually turned the radio off, this is 100% normal. In fact, I've never known a vehicle that didn't have the radio turn on (if left on) when the vehicle is started. Muting is one thing, powering off is another.
