Short cuts are cool to save time until they are not. I am not saying don't do wha you plan to do. I am saying that Its a one shot deal to save a little bit of time. The cost of waiting to get a new bump stop pad shipped to you and the cost of the new part may out weigh the risk of spending the additional time.

Lord knows I am all about shortcuts. I would rent a spring compressor and pull the spring.

When your gut tells you, don’t do it, but you take the short cut anyway and mess it up just like you knew you would…so much regret.

Yeah... don't cut it. Also, do be sure you've measured correctly for avoiding overcompressing your shocks before you drop that much bumpstop. Another consideration is that many lift springs need bumpstop to avoid coil bind that can damage the coil.

All very helpful - Thanks for everyone's ideas. I only have 3 1/2" of up travel at ride height and would really like 4. Started out with 4 but then came the winch. All I really want to do is remove the 2" bump and put in a 1 1/2 bump. Such a small deal I was just looking for a shortcut, however, the correct way is probably the real shortcut. My compressed shock length will be fine and it looks like I have about 5" of room before my springs compress completely. When I get a chance I'll get the floor jack out and compress one side just to be sure.
