@spoiledkari, I’m trying to follow along, but I’m lost. I only have PST, no hard top. I, too, hear an annoying creak from the vicinity of driver’s a-pillar.

As a PST 2dr, will I have the same bolt that you’ve tightened?

No, you won’t have that bolt because it only comes with rigs with the hard top or dual top group. Khsonic03 provided a link a few replies ago where you can purchase them on amazon for like $8. Grab some silicone spray and apply liberally between the plates before really tightening that bolt down and you should notice a difference. Open your soft top to sunrider position to access the plates.

I have a JLUR with the Freedom panels/hardtop and have the same creaking problem on both the driver and passenger side. Will installing the bolts solve my problem, or does my hardtop already have them?

No, hardtop already has the bolts installed. All you can do is make sure they are tight.

Damn! I’ve already torqued them to spec and also tried tightening them all the way. None of that has help and the annoying driver and passenger side creaks persist. Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you checked the sunvisors yet? The hard rubber and the hard plastic will give you a rattle/creak on even the smoothest roads. A little fuzzy sided velcro over the rubber bumpers silenced the noise reflecting off of the windshield for me. Also, when my wife is done with the mirror, the hard slap of the visor going up is muted too.

No, the sound is definitely coming from above the driver and passenger heads near where the Freedom panel lever is.

Unfortunately I had a busy weekend and didnt get a chance to mess with this, but I have been thinking about it.

If it is the plates, I'm guessing it's a lateral or twisting force that's causing the noise.

Thinking applying structural epoxy in the spots below could eliminate lateral movement and reinforce the whole area.

I have the same issue. It’s been making me crazy. Did you find a fix? Thanks

Yes - I posted a link to some bolts that fixed the noise. RubenZ re-linked a couple posts above.

The noise never came back after I put these in.
