Has any forum member replaced the seat base themself?
I’m out of warranty but have avoided the dealer service department if at all possible since I bought my Jeep new in 2018.
I‘ve had the passenger seat popping noise for several months now (driving me nuts), but I just today ran across this thread confirming the fix.
I’ve got all of the tools and determination to replace it myself, I was just wondering if there’s anyone here that might have any advice or tips they could offer.

It‘s interesting that the current part # is 68276600AG, which supersedes five prior versions of the part - 68276600AA, 68276600AB, 68276600AC, 68276600AD, 68276600AE. Surely they got it right on the sixth try.

@BrntWS6 did you ever replace yours?
FWIW, 3-in-1 oil applied to the collars on both sides of the steel rod at the back of the seat has lasted since December 2020 for me, including a solid 2021 season of wheeling. Just a thought if you plan to do the work yourself anyway.

Mike-
Thanks - I may give that a try, too. How do you remove the cover for the airbag (piece that says “Airbag” ) that is on top of the one that has two screws on it that you also remove to access the joints that you apply the oil to?
Thanks!

Benny - do you have part # 68276600AG in stock or is it available? If not, how about one of the other superseded/improved versions of # 68276600AA?
Hi,
The AG is the latest part #. This is available in about 20 days.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
-Benny

Been a while but don’t recall removing any covers. Unbolted the seat from the tub. Disconnected wiring. Removed the seat from the rig. Flipped it and oiled the collars. Reverse.

Anybody have any experience replacing 68276600AG (Jeep Front seat cushion frame), once the seat is out of the car how difficult is it to change? I imagine you just unbolt the old one and bolt the new one on, but just want to make sure there isn't more to it. Also is it possible to unbolt the seat from the floor push it back a bit and change it while it is still in the vehicle?
