Made a video to show the ball joints creaking turning wheel a tiny bit. These are greasable ball joints that came with the UD 44 but not the same HD ones you’d buy from someone like northridge 4x4.
Long story short, I didn’t realize that 3 of the 4 zerk fittings somehow fell out and I have no idea how long they were gone. I went through a lot of water all while they were likely gone and drove around with likely very little grease inside. Ruining them.
Further, the zerks just do not like letting grease pass through them into the BJ. The threads on the BJ and zerk just don’t line up great, even on the free replacement balljoints dana they sent me. I just can’t get grease inside. They’ll just puke out the grease through the shoddy zerk fittings.
So for that reason I ordered some Dynatrac Balljoints. If I’m going to change them I’d rather just do it once and not worry about zerks falling out or some other type of issue.
