A chicken sandwich and some wine in -7C (19F) weather. It was a great night camping!

I'm a little jealous of people who can truly camp and sleep in a tent outdoors. If I do that I'll wake up to my sinuses being more clogged than a toilet after a night of binging taco bell.

I don’t take a lot of pictures when on the trail or camping. But this was some carne asada and Mexican rice in the pot. The fire pit I’m cooking over was there when we showed up. I have a two burner Coleman but I prefer cooking over an open flame.

No pics, but good ol' soup-a-rice sticks to your ribs for lunch w/ leftovers.

One can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup (made as directed on can w/ water or milk), and fill the empty can with Minute Rice. Fills you up and costs less than a buck for lunch.

I am hoping to learn to cook like Ted and Carla. Too busy washing down a Clif bar on the way to our next hike—

Cooking rice over a fire is hardcore.

My wife and I like canned corn beef in an iron skillet with diced potatoes, fry that and put two fried eggs on top. Put a few dashes of tobasco on it and yum yum.
Another good dish is boil some egg noodles drain put in a skillet and sauté with butter and two or three eggs and chopped smoked ham And some tobasco. It’s a German dish I picked up from my German in-laws.

I do mine with rice and eggs, sunny side up and a couple shots of Tobasco.
