Console diagram incorrect?

I know I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, so I've gotta ask for a little help:

A broken console latch appears to be a rite of passage around here, and there is much discussion of service bulletins & super-glue fixes. My latch broke to where I don't think super-glue will do the trick & I ordered a new one from forum sponsor @AllMoparParts.com.

I go out to replace it today & find I've got a latch for the upper part of the lid, but the bottom part's latch is what I need. Back to the website, review parts diagrams for various years & trim levels - all have the same diagram:

Where is the secondary lid in this diagram?
or - more to the point - what's the part number of the latch i actually need? (it is certainly not "68470797AA", the upper one).

Hi Doug,

Assuming were talking about the lower (larger) section latch this can be found here

The part I need is, of course, the one that requires some special attention.

The latch you linked to, I already ordered & have in-hand.
The one I need is just a little different, from what i can tell.

There's definitely 2 lids on my console, not so much on the diagram.

Any further help would be much appreciated!

Hi Doug,

After following mopar's internal notes about a serviceable latch it turned out to be the same lower one you already have and that I linked. This means that the upper latch is part of the console lid and is not a serviceable item.

I did come across this that may be helpful to you though

If you would like a new lid assembly I would need your VIN to determine the correct part number.
