New JL owner here... Is there a good place to find out what an original part/component part is? I'm pretty search savvy but am having trouble identifying differences between crossmembers/skid plates/brush guards air guards, etc. In every you tube repair video I watch they call it something different. For example, in one video I watched they called a particular part a "front crossmember". The part is the component of the front frame section pictured. It looks like it has 4 "X"s across it. In the video the jeep had a plastic "brush guard" in front of the "front crossmember", however my 2021 Rubicon had a much more substantial and wider GUARD that was somewhat in place of the "brush guard" in the video. Also, my Rubicon did not have the "front crossmember". I'm wondering if the more substantial guard replaces the "XXXX crossmember" on the Rubicon?

Bing Videos

I am needing to know what these parts are called in general because I like to know and talk about vehicles. But I specifically need to have the question answered because I need to order the "front frame section/frame horn/front frame extensions(?)" to repair my Rubicon.

Thanks @AllMoparParts.com! And thanks @jludave for the pass. This is helpful. I assume the “XXXX crossmember” is just to protect the components of the electronic swaybar release

My father-in-law has a heavy truck repair shop. He’s never worked on Jeeps but agreed to help me repair this one bought at a salvage auction. Benny, can you tell me definitively if the JK frame horn section is compatible with the JL? I need to replace the frame horn on my ‘21 Rubicon and the only JL’s I’ve seen are astronomically priced. Since my JL rubicon has no “XXXX crossmember” and I’m planning on putting an aftermarket bumper and the attachment to protect the swaybar assembly, why else would the JK framehorn not work? I’m assuming that the “body mount supports” are in same position or can be moved.

Notes: We laser measured the frame and, other than the frame horns, the frame is within a 1/4 in. Meaning the damage is limited to the frame horns, which seem like they should be able to be replaced.

Hi Bryan,
What your calling the frame horn I would call the frame extension. These are not shared with with the JK platform. For reference part numbers are 68638761AB & 68638760AB
