Hi, I'm new here. We just changed the shocks on my Jeep to Fox 2.0 and have the Fox steering stabilizer to replace the original. My husband was saying I needed to change the coil springs as well. I don't neccessarily want to lift my 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport JL.
My jeep hit a bump in the road and although the new shocks were much better, we still heard a slight bottoming out sound. I guess what I'm asking is your opinion on what brand coil spring I should get to replace the ones I have which are stock. Thank you in advance.

I’d Rather Talk Jeep’s!
Howdy and welcome!

It must have been a larger bump and I’m guessing you simply hit the bumpstops. You shouldn’t need need coils if you’re not planning to lift it.

Although, those shocks are for 1.5”-3.5” lifts. You say you don’t want to lift it. Is there a reason you went with the longer shocks? It’s advisable to match the coils with the shocks in this instance. Here are some coil springs for you…

You also will need new extended sway bar end links to match the increased lift. Might need an adjustable front track bar to recenter the axle. I’m a big fan of AEV products, but am uncertain if you can piece together a kit from them, but they provided control arm geometry correction brackets, rear track bar tower extension, and bump stop spacers on their DualSport lift kit. Rides great!

I had mismatched coil springs and shocks in my Yukon once and it didn’t take long until my shocks started leaking and needed replacement (my setup was reversed however…longer coils/shorter shocks).

Why not get OEM shocks if you don’t want to lift it? As you can see a few more things need to be changed out when changing coil height.

I bought those shocks because it was suggested that Fox was a good brand of shock so I did. All I knew was to see if it fit my type of jeep. This is way over my head. I'm new to the jeep world. It was a pretty good bump, but I didn't realize someone put more asphalt on it. Surprised me too. Otherwise the shocks have been a good improvement.
I spent more on those shocks because I figured they would be a good investment. They are installed so I can't send them back. Holy cats what have I gotten myself in to?
Will I still be able to use the Fox steering stablilizer shock?
