I've found that the climate control, especially in auto is pretty poor, I'm having to have it set at least 5 degC higher than any other car I've owned just to feel normal inside. Previous Jeep was a 2012 wk2, had it set at 19 degC all year round, never needed to touch it, pretty much what I'd expect from auto.
So having almost given up on the auto mode , I have been trying to use in in manual mode these past few days but even then, I'm noticing that after a few miles, the temperature of the air coming out of the vents is much cooler than it really should be given the temperature set point. Of course, increase this by a degree and it starts to blow hot air again but only for a few minutes and we're back to square one.
Yesterday as an example it was 14 degC outside and I'm running with the step-in in the Jeep at 26 degC, clearly not right.
This is also noticeable when on high defrost, the air temperature doesn't increase and just stays as it was before the button was pressed, would have expected this to jump to max temp when on max defrost (full air flow to windscreen).
I wouldn't say this is a cooling system issue, as there is certainly plenty of hot air when set to max temperature but it's definitely not controlling to what the set-point is.
Would anyone know where the cabin temperature sensor is located?
So, do I have a unique problem or is this common?
