Mines clean as a whistle and just had this happen. Second time, last time it fixed itself by shutdown and restart.

Ugh. What a vehicle
My GC started getting the HVAC glitches, start blowing hot air, auto off, etc. shutdown and restart, with increasing attempts for auto to work. Defaulted to 75 degrees when it occurred. …. At Jeep for several days until they could duplicate, the radio replaced, a $1,363 repair. Sometimes the screen stayed black, vehicle phone requires service. Typically this upon start, and it wouldn’t respond to settings change.

I just want to confirm, you're saying replacing the radio fixed this? I've seen this before and it usually ends up being a control bank (the switches) failing or the HVAC module failing

The radio screen going black/freezing should be unrelated to the HVAC functionality. The radio is just used as a backup to the HVAC module physical controls. The radio could do all kinds of weird stuff (like displaying the incorrectly selected vent setting or wrong temp) but the HVAC system should be functional and respond to the physical buttons

Switch bank -> lin bus (directly wired) -> hvac module
Radio -> can bus (public network) -> hvac module

Hopefully you can decipher, I was told it needed a new radio.

HVAC module update fixed the HVAC issue, and replacing the radio fixed the screen issue.

Thanks for the clarification. I like how the tech updated the TPM/AMP just because he was there anyway
