I have a 2020 Wrangler JL unlimited Sport that I got brand new. I’m a pretty light driver and have had NO issues with this Jeep.
I just had new 17x9 rims and 33” tires installed. I drove it home 5 miles and started hearing a clicking noise on the rear drivers side, ONLY on deceleration around 15mph. Not there with acceleration.
any suggestions?

The first thing I would do is verify that the lug nuts are torqued to spec. Can you post a link of the specific wheels you installed?

You've got defective rims and tires. Immediately take them off and start over. LOL

Seriously, you seem like a functional adult and realize that the click/clunk was not heard on your old set of wheels. Take it back to the folks that installed them and ask them. You're going get advice, some ribbing, but whoever you listen to here, you'll still end up back at the installers. My $.02

Hi,

Depending upon mileage and use of parking brake it could be something with that, had it happen on my 07 Ram.

Good luck,

Regards,
Jim

I believe those wheels require a hubcentric ring to guarantee they are centered on the hub.
I would take the Jeep back to the install shop and tell them about the issue. Ask if the wheels included hubcentric rings and and to check the lug nut torque. Let us know the outcome.
I will do that. Thank you!

I don’t use the parking brake and only have 31,000 miles.

Well it’s definite something with the new wheels & tires. Put the old ones back on and it ran smooth. Put a call into the shop and they’re ordering hub rings. Thank you so much for the recommendation. Praying it does the trick once and for all. I just want to enjoy my new ride!

I’m glad you were able to diagnose the issue. Without the hub rings or a hubcentric wheel, you have to torque the lug nuts in increments of 20lbs to center the wheel on the hub.
