Beautiful plane. But I'd like to point out in the P-51 case it was a matter of practicality. The shiny aluminum (not chrome) was done to avoid having to paint them and get them out to fight as quickly as possible, as well as saving weight. Same thing happened with some C-141s in Desert Shield.

There’s a local JL around here that is wrapped in red chrome. Iv seen it a few times so I think we live close to each other

We must live really close because I've seen it several places too. Honestly they did a great job and It looks really cool. This might not be the best pic it just looks shiny here but it real life it is mirror red chrome.

Yup. Bright yellow 2 door usually with safari top. Not chrome wrapped but hard to miss.

I'm all for people customizing their rigs, but I agree that chrome wraps shouldn't be allowed. The same for semis with those chrome rear doors. It's just unsafe if the sun is shining at the right angle. JMHO...
